Azure Stack Account Settings

Before you configure your Azure Stack account, you must know what is supported and what is not supported in current version of the Jamcracker Appliance:

What is supported:

  • Setting up Azure stack in a connected mode with Azure i.e. Consumption model
  • Setting up Azure stack in a connected mode with Active directory
  • Hosting of Azure Stack against CSP Subscription
  • Supports Consumption based billing

What is not supported:

  • Capacity model or disconnected mode
  • Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS)
  • Connected mode registered against Enterprise Agreement (EA)

Setup Azure Stack Partner Credentials

In this section, we take you through step by step process to setup Microsoft Azure Stack partner credentials. The partner credentials can be configured by logging into the Marketplace using your Marketplace credentials or by using store admin credentials.

  1. Login to Jamcracker Appliance using your store admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to Catalog page.

  3. Click Edit Partner Credentials icon against the service (Azure Stack Subscription Service) to which you want to edit/modify the credentials.

  4. Add information to the following fields in this page -
    • Microsoft CSP Partner ID - Type your Microsoft CSP Partner account Id. Click here to know how to find your Partner ID.
    • Default Domain - Type your Microsoft domain name. Click here to know how to find your domain name.
    • Username - Type your username (Partner Username). Click here to know how to create a username.
    • Password - Type the password. Click here to know how to get your password.
    • Native Application ID: Type your native application ID. Click here to know how to find your Native Application ID.
    • Graph API Client ID: Type the Graph API Client ID. Click here to know how to find your Graph API Client ID. (CSP Partner center credentials).
    • Graph API Secret Key: Type the Graph API Secret Key. Click here to know how to find your Graph API Secret Key. (CSP Partner center credentials).
    • Azure Stack Registered ID: Obtained during Azure stack setup can be found in the registration log in the following location C:\MASLogs\Registration\
      • Example :

        C:\MASLogs\Registration\AzureStack.Activation.Set-AzsRegistration-YYYY-MM-DD

    • Azure Stack Admin Subscription ID: Obtained during Azure stack setup can be found in the registration log in the following location C:\MASLogs\Registration\
      • Example :

        C:\MASLogs\Registration\AzureStack.Activation.Set-AzsRegistration-YYYY-MM-DD

    • Azure Stack Admin Username: Type Azure Stack Admin User Name.
    • Azure Stack Admin Password: Type Azure Stack Admin Password.
    • Azure Stack Default Domain: Domain name of the company/tenant under which Azure stack has been registered.
    • Azure Stack Admin URL: Obtained during Azure stack setup, Example : https://adminmanagement.region.fqdn/
    • Azure Stack Key Vault DNS Suffix: Obtained during Azure stack setup or execute the below PowerShell commands to obtain the value.
      • $ArmEndpoint = https://adminmanagement.<region>.fqdn
      • Add-AzureRMEnvironment -Name "AzureStackAdmin" - ArmEndpoint $ArmEndpoint
    • Azure Stack Client ID: Type the Graph API Client ID. Click here to know how to find your Graph API Client ID (login as Azure Stack Admin).
    • Azure Stack API Secret Key: Type the Graph API Client ID. Click here to know how to find your Graph API Client ID (login as Azure Stack Admin)
    • Azure Stack Tenant ARM Endpoint: Obtained during Azure stack setup, Example: https://management.region.fqdn/
    • Request Reseller Relationship Link: (If applicable) - Type the request reseller relationship link which you might have received from your partner. If you do not have, then click here to know how to get your Request Reseller Relationship link.
    • 2-Tier Reseller ID: (If applicable) - Type the reseller Id. This ID you might have received from your partner. If not, please contact your ISV. If you are a Tier 1 Reseller, then just leave the field blank.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To complete you setup you must configure your region. Click here to know how to configure your region.

Add Azure Stack Cloud Service Credentials

Before you configure your Azure Stack Cloud Credentials, you must update or verify the "dynamicproperty.properties" file in the server.

  • Property File Location "<jboss-home>/pp_config/".
  • Append "adminUserName,adminPassword" with PROVIDER_ACCOUNT_NEW_HIDE_FIELDS.
  • Open "AZURESTACK_WELCOME_EMAIL.ftl" file from "<jboss-home>/pp_config/mscsp/Email_Template/" location and replace <<Azure Stack URL>> with your azure stack portal url.
In this section, we take you through step by step process to add Microsoft Azure Stack Cloud Service Credentials:
Note: Do not add Azure Stack administrator/operator details in Add Cloud Service Credentials page.
  1. Login to Jamcracker Appliance.
  2. Navigate to Manage > Cloud Service Credentials page.

  3. Click the Add Cloud Service Credentials icon.

  4. Select Cloud Provider from cloud provider drop-down list and click Next. Fields related to the cloud provider appears on the screen.

    New Customer

    If you are a New Microsoft Cloud Customer, select "No" against "Existing Microsoft Cloud Customer"option, and provide the details as described in the below table:

    Fields Value
    Existing Microsoft Cloud Customer If you are a new customer select "No".
    Microsoft Primary Domain Type a unique primary domain name without any extension. Example: <domain>. We assume that your primary domain extension ends with <domain.onmicrosoft.com>.

    Click Save. An email will be sent to you along with your username and password and instructions (Change Password in Microsoft portal and to update the credentials back in JSDN) to be followed.

    Now, login to your store account and navigate through Manage > Cloud Service Credentials page, from the list identify the Azure Stack subscription and click the Edit link from the Actions column and enter the updated credentials and click Update.

    An email will be sent to your store administrator, your store administrator has to update the subscription ID by proxy into the customer account and navigating through Manage > Cloud Service Credentials page. The status of your Azure Stack cloud credentials changes to Waiting for Authorization. You (as Customer Administrator) will receive an email with instructions to provide your consent/authorization. Once you authorize, you are ready to launch your VM and start using it.

    However, before you start launching your VM, your store administrator must add owner roleprivilage to access the subscription.

    Existing Customers

    If you are an Existing Microsoft Cloud Customer, select "Yes", and provide the details as described in the below table:

    The following table explains a list of fields that needs to be configured for Azure Stack Cloud Solutions Provider Account. However, before configuring the account, you must have details of your Microsoft Primary Domain, and Azure Stack Subscription ID.
    Fields Values
    Cloud Provider Select the cloud provider from the drop-down list. While configuring an Azure Account, you either select “Already have an Account” (if you have an account with Microsoft Azure) or select “Create New Account”.
    Exisiting Microsoft Cloud Customer If you are an existing Microsoft Cloud Customer select "Yes".
    New Azure Subscription

    Select "Yes", if you wish to create a new Azure Subscription (Public).

    Select "No", if you already have Azure Subscription (Public) ID.

    Microsoft Primary Domain Type a unique primary domain name without any extension. Example: <domain>. We assume that your primary domain extension ends with <domain.onmicrosoft.com>.
    Azure Stack Subscription ID Type the Azure Stack Subscription ID.
    Azure Subscription ID If you have selected "No" for creating a New Azure Subscription, this field is displayed. By default the system will populate as "New", otherwise enter your existing azure subscription ID.
  5. Click Save.

The system will validate your email ID, domain name and subscription ID, once it is validated the status of your account changes to "Waiting for Authorization".

So, once the account is validated, as a Store Administrator you must add a new role "Owner" to the subscription that you have created. This will give your customers to manage their subscriptions respectively.
Note: If you are a Customer Administrator, then please contact your store administrator who will help you in creating the new role.
  1. Login to the Azure Portal and navigate to Subscriptions page, click the Azure Stack subscription.

  2. Click Access control (IAM).

  3. Click Add to add Owner Role (for administrators to access the subscription).

  4. Click Save.

You can click the Validate link from the Actions column and authorize your account.
