Manage Promotions

As an administrator, you can manage your promotional content for your store that are added at the marketplace and propagated to the reseller stores. You can manage promotional content for a store by approving or rejecting a promotion. You can also view the status of all the promotions created within a store. However, when you proxy into your member or store account, you cannot add new promotions to their account(s)

To navigate to promotion page, do the following:

  1. Log in to the marketplace using your administrator credentials.
  2. On the Administration menu, and click Promotions page. The Promotions page is displayed.

  3. On the Promotion page, you will find a list of existing promotions in the Store along with relevant information against each field as described in the table below:
Fields Descriptions
Promotion Name Name of the promotion.
Promotion Type Type of promotion, Custom Trial.
Submitted Store Name of the Store which holds this promotion.
Coupon Code The unique code associated with each promotion.
Duration The number of days for which the promotion is valid.
Start Date Date on which the promotion starts.
End Date Date on which the promotion ends.
Status Status of the promotion on the day you view the promotion status.
  • New: New promotion.
  • Active: Promotion is approved and is within the active period.
  • Rejected: Promotion is rejected.
  • Expired: Promotion has been approved and crossed the expiry date.
  • Deleted: Promotion has been deleted by the reseller administration.
  • Pending Approval: Promotion has been sent for approval by the reseller administration.
Action Click the View Promotion icon to view promotions details. Click the Edit Promotion icon to accept or reject a promotion at the end of the page if the promotion is sent for approval.

The following sections will guide you to manage your marketplace promotions more effectively:

Add Promotions

You can add a promotion and assign it to stores. To add a promotion, do the following:

  1. Log in to the marketplace using your administrator credentials.
  2. On the Administration menu, and click Promotions page.
  3. Click Add Promotion. The Add Promotion page is displayed. Provide the promotional details as described in the table below:
    Fields Descriptions
    Promotion Type Select the promotion type from the drop-down list.
    • Custom Trial: Allows you to define the trial period, maximum number of trial licenses, enable payment options input, and post-trial service options.
    Promotion Name Name of the promotion
    Promotion Code Provide an alphanumeric value with a maximum of 16 characters. The promotion code is unique for each promotion and cannot be assigned to other promotions.
    Description Provide a description to explain the benefits of the promotion being offered.
    Short Description Provide a short description for the promotion.
    Trial Duration (in Days) The number of days for which the trial promotion is valid.
    Promotion Start Date The date from which the promotion will be valid.
    Promotion End Date The date on which the promotion validity expires.
    Promotion Licenses
    The number of promotion licenses provided to the customers.
    Note: This field is displayed only when you select Custom Trial as the promotion type.
    Post Trail Service Option Select any of the following options:
    • Auto-Purchase Service: To enable automatic purchase of the service upon trial completion.
    • Terminate Service: To automatically terminate the service upon trial completion.
      Note: This field is displayed only when you select Custom Trial as the promotion type.
  4. Select the Configuration Language from the drop-down list.
  5. Click Save & Associate Store to associate the promotion to stores.
  6. You can associate the promotion to store(s) by selecting against the names of the relevant stores.
    Note: A promotion can be propagated to any number of stores. However, you can propagate a promotion only to 10 selected stores at a time.
  7. The Associate Offers page displays the offers which are resold to the selected stores. Click Save & Associate to associate the promotion to service offers.
  8. You can associate the promotion to service offer(s) by selecting against the names of the relevant service offers.
  9. Click Save. The Confirm Promotions page is displayed notifying that the promotion changes will be applicable to new orders only.
  10. Click Proceed to complete the process of adding promotion.

An e-mail is sent to the store administrator to notify about the promotion added to the store.

Edit Promotions

You can add a promotion and assign it to stores. To add a promotion, do the following:

  1. Log in to the marketplace using your administrator credentials.
  2. On the Administration menu, and click Promotions page.
  3. Identify the promotion to be edited and click the Edit Promotion icon from the Actions column. The Edit Promotion page is displayed.
  4. You can edit the description fields and associate the promotion to more stores and service offers.
    Note: The marketplace administrator can edit only the description fields.
  5. Click Save to save the changes.

Approve Promotions

You can only approve a custom trial type of promotion created by a reseller administrator if it complies with the business dynamics within your organization. To approve a custom trial type of promotion, do the following

  1. Log in to the marketplace using your administrator credentials.
  2. On the Administration menu, and click Promotions page. Against a promotion that is sent for approval, the status of the promotion is set as “pending approval”.
  3. Click the Edit Promotion icon from the Actions column.
  4. On the Approve or Reject Promotion page, click Approve.
  5. Enter your approval comments on the Approve Promotion Request message box and click Submit.
  6. The promotion is approved and the status against it is displayed as “Active”.

Reject Promotions

You can only reject a custom trial type of promotion created by a reseller administrator if it does not comply with the business dynamics within your organization. To reject a custom trial type of promotion, do the following:

  1. Log in to the marketplace using your administrator credentials.
  2. On the Administration menu, and click Promotions page. Against a promotion that is sent for approval, the status of the promotion is set as “pending approval”.
  3. Click the Edit Promotion icon from the Actions column.
  4. On the Approve or Reject Promotion page, click Reject.
  5. Enter your reasons for rejection in the Reject Promotion Request message box and click Submit.
  6. The promotion is rejected and the status against it is displayed as “Rejected”.
